This white air-knit gamer by Reebok was the final jersey worn by Joe Thornton as a member of the Boston Bruins. This historic sweater was last worn during a November 29th 2005 game vs. the New Jersey Devils. Thornton was the 1st overall draft pick in the 1997 NHL entry draft by the Boston Bruins. Joe began his career in Beantown and played his first 7+ seasons with the club before a trade on November 30th, 2005 sent him packing to San Jose. Thornton has remained a member of the Sharks ever since, a total of 5 years in all. Viewed as one of the NHL’s premier players, Joe has averaged better than a point per game thus far in his NHL carerer.
The year in which this gamer was worn happened to be a history making one for Thornton as he became the 1st player ever traded during a season to go onto win the scoring title (Art Ross trophy) and the Most Valuable Player Award (Hart Trophy). That season Joe tallied 125 points en route to capturing those prestigious awards.
Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Game use consists of stick marks, board burns and inner pilling. Shown above is a photo match of Joe wearing this exact jersey during that November 29th game against the New Jersey Devils, his last ever as a member of the Boston Bruins. Offered here is a tremendous opportunity to acquire a historic jersey worn during Thornton’s Hart and Art Ross winning season. Included with your purchase will be the 16x20 Getty Images photo match.
